Research Library Finding Aids

This LibGuide features finding aids to help patrons, researchers, and library staff navigate various collections.

Subject Vertical Files

The Arizona Collection subject vertical files contain a wide spectrum of subjects related to Arizona culture and history. Curation of this collection has continued since its creation in the 1930s.

Vertical files may contain newspaper clippings, short articles, and other possibly unique ephemera. They are useful for those just beginning their research and those trying to enhance their research.

Below you will find a PDF (453 KB) with the most updated list of subject vertical files. You can download the PDF and use the Find Command (Control Key/Command Key and F) to search for content. If you prefer not to download the PDF, use the A-Z listings.

If you are searching for a person, such as a legislator or an Arizonan of note, use the biographical vertical file finding aid.

Please note the vertical files have not been digitized and are not found online. To view the files, patrons must make an appointment to visit our Reading Room (Monday-Friday 8:30AM-12:00PM or 1:00PM-4:30PM, excluding holidays). Click here to make an appointment or request help.
