Research Library Finding Aids

This LibGuide features finding aids to help patrons, researchers, and library staff navigate various collections.

Newspaper Finding Aid Overview

The Newspaper Collection at the State of Arizona Research Library contains almost 1,200 newspaper titles from all across the state, as well as neighboring states, ranging from 1859 to the present.

This Newspaper Finding Aid lists newspaper titles on microfilm and print available for public access in our Reading Room. In addition, many of our titles are digitized on the Arizona Memory Project and the LibGuide also lists which titles are digitized and what dates are online. There are two sections, one for large cities and another for all other cities for which we have newspaper titles for, and they are listed alphabetically under the city of publication.

If you wish to view this information in one document, you can also download the Newspaper Collection Finding Aid located at the bottom of the page.

Note: To best preserve the materials, patrons are directed to available formats according to this order: Digital, Microfilm, Print. In addition, the dates provided are for the earliest and latest issues available for each title in our collection. There may be many missing between these dates that the library does not have. To inquire if specific dates are available for a title, please contact us.

To view newspaper titles, patrons must make an appointment to visit our Reading Room (Monday-Friday 8:30AM-12:00PM or 1:00PM-4:30PM, excluding holidays). Click here to make an appointment or request help.
