Minorities in Arizona: Historical Topics and Related Resources

Arizona has a diverse and intricate history made up of the many people who have settled in the state from extremely varied backgrounds. Each individual and their greater communities have influenced Arizona's past to make the state what it is today. Unfortunately, not all of those stories are told or well known.

The following LibGuide includes materials located in the collections of the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records to help reveal the minority experience in Arizona through the following topics:

  • Border Experiences and Communities
  • Desegregation
  • Diverse Voices and Leaders
  • Elections
  • Infrastructure Development Impact on Minority Neighborhoods
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
  • and general Minority Community information
