The Innovation Information Initiative is a data collaborative for open innovation data and related analytics, tools, and metrics. This includes global patent datasets, citation graphs among and between patents and scholarship, and metric or secondary datasets derived from these.

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) U.S. Patent Citations Data File According to their website, the data is now out-of-date, but contains detailed information on almost 3 million U.S. patents granted between January 1963 and December 1999.
