The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the departments and agencies of the Federal Government. The regulations are published annually.

The best online tool is the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations. This website is managed by the National Archives and Records Administration, and it is updated on a daily basis.
To search the eCFR, you can enter a citation if you have one (ie 40 cfr 131.14). Once the section opens, you can click the Timeline option on the left side to see when any changes were last made, and you’ll see the change highlighted in the text. If you don’t have a citation, you can also browse the title list on the homepage.

The second website you could utilize for CFRs is the Federal Register. The website post daily publications for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. The website was designed for citizens and communities who wanted a better understanding of the Federal Government regulatory process and decision-making.
Federal Register has various ways to go about searching for resources. The Reader Aids is a great place to start for guidance on how to use the website and understand the Federal Register.
