The Arizona State Archives is a branch of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, which is a division of the Arizona Secretary of State's office.
The Arizona State Archives collects, preserves, and makes available to the public and all branches of government permanent public records spanning Territorial and Statehood periods, with records of agencies and departments, historical manuscripts, photographs and other materials that contribute to the understanding of Arizona history. They do not collect church or religious records nor private business records.
Many of the Archives records are available on Ancestry: Arizona, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1803-1995. Please note: If you are an Arizona resident, you can access the records from the Arizona State Archives that have been added to Ancestry for free.
